POLA PEMANFAATAN RUANG PADA RUMAH PRODUKTIF (Studi Kasus Hunian Perajin Perak Kampung Wisata Basen Kotagede)

Abstract

Basen Tourism Village is one of the kampung located in Kotagede, Yogyakarta. Basen Tourism Village has a major attraction as a village of silver artisans and silver sellers. The houses of the artisans are productive houses because some of the houses are used for business (productive) or economic activity. Most of the artisan are producing silver crafts in their homes so the uncertainty limits the use of home space as a place of business as well as a dwelling. The objective of the research is to examine the pattern of home use of the artisans as productive houses. The research was done by qualitative research method. The sample was taken by purposive sampling technique with the number of samples of 9 houses. The analysis was done by qualitative descriptive analysis technique. The results showed that the pattern of space use in the artisan house can be classified into three typologies : mixed typology, balanced typology, and separate typology. In the typology of mixed house spaces, the use of space in the main building as a dwelling mixes its function as a workplace, where silver production and silver sales. In balanced typology there are similarities of interests related to household activities and silver handicraft activities. In a separate typology, it provides a workspace close to the main building as a place of silver production and sale whereas for household activities still take place inside the main building.
