DETEKSI BAKTERI ENTEROPATOGENIK PADA SUMBER AIR DAN AIR MINUM DI YOGYAKARTA
Abstract
Water is important for humans life especially for drinking, cooking, and washing. The water
should be free from contaminations of enteropathogenic bacteria so it does not cause
diseases. The purpose of this study was done to isolate and identify contamination of
enteropathogenic bacteria in water from the well, local drinking water companies (PDAM),
and bottled drinking water (AMDK). Isolation was done by using Chromucult Coliform Agar
(CCA) and Salmonella Shigella Agar (SSA) as a selective and differential media. Predictable
colonies of enteropathogenic were selected with biochemical test and confirmed by API 20 E.
The result showed that ten percent from total sample tested from well water and bottle water
contaminated by enteropathogenic bacteria. The suspect’s enteropathogenic colonies were
identified as Proteus mirabillis with a percentage %ID values of 99.9% and 99.2%. The result
also proved that ten percent samples from the bottled drinking water contamined with
bacteria. Based on API 20E test, the suspect’s colonies were identified as Klebsiella
pneumonia (ID value : 98.5% and 98.0%).
